Renaissance Social Media

Your job for this project is to create a social media profile for a leading figure of the Renaissance. You can choose an artist, inventor, scientist, politician, or anyone else you find interesting and significant from this period of rebirth. Your profile should include an introduction of your chosen person, something about their life (e.g. a short biography,) and details of why they are important. You should include pictures and be creative in presenting your subject to the reader. Everything you write must be in your own words, and you should include a bibliography on one of the pages.

You can choose to create a fake Facebook profile, Instagram, Google+, or just a blog. Whichever you choose, put yourself in the shoes of your chosen person, and post in a way you think is realistic. What kinds of things would he/she say? What pictures would be posted? Imagine you're a contemporary and post some realistic comments as well.

I don't have any examples of this since it's a new idea for me. Be creative and have fun with it.

Here's a site that lets you create a Fakebook. Try it out.

Renaissance Video

For this project you should create either a commercial or newscast about your Renaissance figure. Some commercial ideas include promoting an exhibit about your figure or an auction of some of their more memorable items. Your newscast could be an obituary or an interview. If you have other ideas, great, use your imagination.

Either way, you should use green screen, voice-overs, and advanced editing techniques in your video. Remember that this is an individual project, but you can use other actors in your movie if you'd like. You should have a script based on your research, and everything should be in your own words. Videos should be approximately one minute or two minutes long.
